Reuse Reduce Recycle

April 30th, 2012

Plastic is generally seen as a major polluter with few Green attributes but here at Cardinal our Plastics and Displays department have successfully introduced recycling processes that ensure that none of our plastic waste, including off cuts and protective film goes into landfill.

In 2011 we recycled 20 tonnes of plastic waste, which is granulated into a reusable product that will be used again.

We also source our acrylic base product from a major UK producer reducing the mileage from source to our factory to around 150 miles which measures favourably with the carbon footprint of importing from the Far East

The industry as a whole is improving its Green credentials making huge improvements in the raw materials such as the 100% Recycled Display Grade Acrylic.  Furthermore, manufacturers are currently developing a biodegradable alternative to PVC which promises enormous global benefits.

So with this in mind, if you have a project which you want to be made from recycled materials and “Made in Britain” give us a call, we’re sure we can help.
