The Etihad Stadium’s flagship store has received a Nike makeover and Cardinal were appointed as the Principal Contractor.
The store was completely redesigned and structural works involving the removal of a staircase and relocation of entrance doors was all completed within a seven week contract period. The new positions for entrances and exits have been included to improve the flow and customer experience on match days.
Cardinal Project Manager, Paul Hobson said “Everything was completed for the handover last Friday and all parties including City, Nike and Kitbag were delighted with the outcome”
With a 25% increase in retail space, now spanning some 900 square metres across two floors, the CityStore’s capacity has risen by 30%. Cardinal manufactured all of the custom made equipment in a striking combination of wood and metal and contributed to the final designs in association with Nike
To celebrate the opening, City legend Mike Summerbee will take centre stage to cut the blue ribbon, alongside Keith Poole, who won a competition commemorating 10 years at the Etihad Stadium.
